Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and process until everything is finely chopped and clumped together.
  2. Form into balls and refrigerate. You can eat them right away, but I think they are best eaten chilled, right out of the fridge 🙂 Enjoy!
Notes
Even if the mixture looks a bit dry or crumbly, it should still be able to easily form balls once you press the mixture together and roll it out with your hands. If you are still having a hard time, try blending in a teaspoon or two of water. That will make it form and stick together easier. Adding water has never been necessary for me, but just thought I'd add that little tip in case anyone had a problem 🙂 Enjoy!

I LOVE coconut, but my family does not. What could I substitute?

I bet these would be great with a dash of cayenne. Yum!

Do you think these would freeze okay? I am gearing up for having a baby and trying to freeze stuff for the first few weeks!

I can not have dates (food sensitivity) is there anything else I could use instead?

Hi Anna, what about figs? I think that would be a great substitute if you can have them! You probably wouldn’t need as many since figs are bigger. I would do about 8 figs for this recipe and see if that works. If the mixture isn’t sticking together well, add 1-2 more at a time until it comes together.

Has anyone tried to add a protein powder to these?

Hi! How are you? It’s Liz “Nourish Me Primally” 🙂 these look lovely! How would you compare their sweetness to Lara Bars?
    Thank you! ❤️

These look scrummy and I will make some today. I make a date ball which is similar but I add coconut oil to the mixture, which helps to bind them. I also soak the dates in a little hot water for 10 minutes first and this also makes the mixture more binding I think. I love the idea of a dash of cayenne!! Thank you for the recipe

Hi, these are amazing! I made them up but I did have problems with them binding (I think the dates I got were too dry, but I thought… these are way to good to throw away, so I found a vegan version of a chocolate cream pie, and as I do not care for traditional crust, I used these for my crust, I took it to my church potluck and I had so many people coming up to me wanting the recipe. Thanks so much for sharing!

This is a delicious combination of flavors and textures. I followed your recipe exactly, and added finely grated zest of an orange. I love chocolate and orange together. So it worked !
    Thanks for the great recipe.

AMAZING RECIPE! Thank you so much. My 2-year-old and I made these today and they are so delicious. It is a very quick and kid-friendly recipe. Maybe next time we will try and add a little cinnamon, that could be good too 🙂
