October Stitch Fix Review
My October Fix is here! I was especially looking forward to this Fix because I needed some cooler weather pieces. When we moved at the beginning of the summer, I got rid of over 95% of my closet. Getting rid of “stuff” is such a freeing feeling, don’t you think? I felt so amazing after that!
I’m now using Stitch Fix to help me build my closet with some really great pieces that are handpicked just for me. It’s my hope to keep a very minimal closet and only have items that I truly love, are perfect for me and are ones that I wear all the time. Stitch Fix has been wonderful for that. The items I’ve kept from them are truly my favorite pieces and the ones I find myself reaching for all the time. I love it!
What is Stitch Fix?
With Stitch Fix, you get your very own personal stylist (!!!) that handpicks a “Fix” for you with five clothing items and/or accessories that are unique to your taste, budget and lifestyle. You have 3 days to decide if you are going to keep any of the items in your Fix. You can buy whatever you like (or nothing) and return the rest, free of charge in their postage paid envelope. There is a $20 styling fee, but if you purchase any of the items in your Fix, it’s credited back to you. I’ve been raving about Stitch Fix to all my friends and family ever since my July Fix. I am totally hooked! I’ve been especially loving to not have to shop anymore! I just tell my Stitch Fix stylist what I need, how much I want to spend and she finds me the best stuff that is so perfect for me. And she even gives me a few ideas on how I can wear the pieces for different looks. Love love love.
If you haven’t tried it yet, you should try it for a month! It’s SO fun! You can sign up for just a one time Fix or you can set how often or as little as you’d like your Fix’s to arrive. You can sign up (or learn more) by clicking HERE.

October Stitch Fix Review
My previous Fix’s have been spot on with sizing and my style so I had high hopes of getting some nice cooler weather pieces in my October Fix.
I’m finding that one of my favorite parts about Stitch Fix is the personalized notes from my stylist. I think this is what makes this service extra special. Through these notes, I can really tell that my stylist gets me and is trying hard to find me the best things that will look good on me. Here’s my sweet little note this time (It also comes with a style card that shows me pictures of how to style my items with different accessories, etc., which is pretty cool, too):
Isn’t that so sweet? She even looks at my fashion Pinterest board and reads these blog posts (Hi!!!) to get a better understanding of my style. I think that is so cool!
So anyway, here’s what my October Fix looked like this time. You’ll have to leave me a comment about what you think of it or any suggestions – I just love getting your comments about all this girly stuff! 🙂
Emperia Kacie Half Flap Cross Body Bag
I am totally obsessed with my Stitch Fix teal cross body bag that I got in August and was so impressed with the quality so I requested another bag for Fall. I have been really enjoying the roominess of the cross body style so I was glad to see another cross body bag in my Fix. I really liked the interior fabric – cute, right?
This bag is really nice, has tons of room, is very well made and would probably be a perfect fit for someone.
But I think I got spoiled with my fun colored teal cross body. Compared to that one, this bag just seemed a little too boring for me. I like my accessories to have some sort of fun, stand out element to them (a bow, a ruffle, a fun color, etc.) and this bag was just too blah for me. I thought it did look nice with the rest of my Stitch Fix pieces, though.

Pixley Hanneli Polka Dot Swing Skirt
Polka dots! I love polka dots! This was the first thing that caught my eye when I opened my package. I am such a sucker for polka dots and couldn’t wait to try this on. It fits me just right. And it even twirls and moves when I walk – how cute! I just love it. And I feel like dancing when I have it on, which totally means it’s a winner 😉 My stitch fix stylist told me to try it with my green ruffle tank from my last Fix. It’s such a fun combination, don’t you think? I would have never thought of pairing those two pieces together myself.
I can’t wait to wear it this Fall and Winter with a white camisole and maybe a bright yellow, pink or mint green cardigan like my stylist suggested. I really appreciate that she makes those tips for me – that’s one of the reasons I love Stitch Fix so much! If you have any other ideas about how I can wear this skirt during the colder months, leave me a comment. I need some more ideas because I plan on wearing this skirt a lot 🙂
VERDICT: Kept and adore it!
41 Hawthorn Abrianna Longsleeve Knit Cardigan
This cardigan is very well made and is a great staple piece for Fall, Winter and Spring. I probably would have kept this, but I already own a cardigan this same color. Here is this cardigan paired with my navy trousers from my last Fix and the cross body bag from this Fix:

Brixon Ivy Heidi Scallop Hem Pencil Skirt
I loved this skirt the moment I pinned it on Pinterest. It is my style to a T complete with a cute scallop hem and scalloped pockets (pockets!!). I was so excited to see that my stylist included it in my Fix – she even said that she thought of me when she saw this skirt, which showed me that she really gets me! My stylist told me to try it with the coral blouse I kept from my July Fix. I thought that was such a pretty combination. Again, I never would have thought to put that combination together myself but it looked so stinkin’ cute together, right?! I really loved this whole look.
It’s been really difficult for me to find professional pieces that still show off a little bit of my personality, which is one of the reasons I fell in love with this skirt. The cute scallops add a bit of fun and flair while still staying very professional looking. Love that! I loved everything about this skirt, but unfortunately, it was way too big on me. I have inches of it pinned in the back for these pictures and was totally bummed that it was so big. I did consider keeping it and getting it altered and I may really regret not doing that. But one of the reasons I’ve been loving Stitch Fix is that I haven’t needed to get my clothes altered because they’ve been sending things that fit me like a glove. It was surprising to me that I had a sizing issue this time since my previous Fix’s have been spot on with sizing.
VERDICT: Sent back, but would have loved it to be a keeper
Fun2Fun Sheridan Striped V-Neck Tab Sleeve Blouse
These tops are so in right now. I know, I know. But here’s the thing. I don’t wear black. Can you believe it?! I really don’t! This past year, I got rid of every last stitch of black that I owned. After getting my colors done, I realized that black does absolutely nothing positive for my facial features and it also drags my high energy down so I ditched it. By the way, I think everyone should get their colors done. It’s amazing how much color can make a difference in how you look. The right colors for you can take years off your face and highlight your natural beauty. The wrong colors can actually make your wrinkles look deeper, add age, and more. It’s pretty crazy what colors can do for a face! Can you see the difference?
This top has some cute button details on the back shoulders that you can’t see in the pics and it really is adorable for the right person. I think this top would be super cute on someone else that can wear black (especially with colored skinny jeans or a bright colored skirt like my stylist suggested), but it’s just not for me no matter how stylish these shirts are right now.
My stylist knows I don’t wear black and I appreciate her thoughtful advice to wear a bright colored scarf so I could stay within my color palette near my face, yet still be stylish with this black striped shirt. I still didn’t think it worked for me, though. Even though the shirt is cute and really comfy, I’m only buying things that are absolutely perfect for me and this just isn’t.

I guess my wallet gets a breather this Fix, since I only kept one item. I still call this Fix a success because I adore my fun new polka dot skirt and will have a blast wearing it 🙂
If you want to try Stitch Fix for yourself, I say go for it! It’s been a blast for me and I can honestly say that my Stitch Fix pieces are my most favorites and most well worn in my closet. It’s even helping me branch out of my style comfort zone, which I really needed to do. Plus I don’t have to waste time shopping anymore!!! (A big Woo to the Hoo for that!) I am hooked on this service so far and already can’t wait until my next Fix. If you want to learn more about Stitch Fix or if you want to sign up to get a Fix, you can do so by clicking HERE
