Unlike the kinds of popsicles that you get at the store, these are healthy popsicles…..and they taste a whole lot better, too 😉

 

Have you ever looked at the ingredients on the back of a store-bought popsicle box? Most popsicles that you get at the store are loaded with sugar, high fructose corn syrup, artificial coloring and chemical flavors. And all those things have been linked with various types of cancers, behavioral problems like hyperactivity, irritability, trouble focusing, and more.  Not cool! 

Most popsicles are horrible for you! Look at those ingredients! So what’s the solution?  Make your own healthy popsicles!

 

There’s only 3 ingredients to these pops, and these healthy ingredients are jam packed with important vitamins and minerals.

 

I chose coconut water as the base of this recipe because coconut water is super rich in nutrients and it’s naturally sweet.  It even has anti-cancer properties, it helps feed your good gut bacteria, it’s an anti-inflammatory. It’s awesome stuff! I like to call it nature’s Gatorade because it’s loaded with electrolytes – even more than most sports drinks! 

 

I’m giving you a basic recipe that I adore, but you can really have some fun playing around with this base recipe to create your own signature flavor healthy popsicles. Mix and match fruit. Fancy them up by adding fresh herbs like mint or basil.  Add a squeeze of lemon or lime. You get the idea.  Have fun with it! And then let me know what you come up with so I can try it, too 🙂

Coconut Water Fruit Popsicles Recipe

Serves: 4-6 popsicles
 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup of your favorite fruit
  • 1 cup of coconut water (I use THIS)
  • 2 tablespoons of honey or sweetener of choice
Instructions
  1. Blend all the ingredients with a blender until smooth.
  2. Pour the liquid into your popsicle molds (I love and use THESE).
  3. Freeze until firm, about 4-5 hours.
