Easy Homemade Apple Dips!

appledipsintro

I love creating foods that taste amazing and that show people that eating healthier is both fun and very satisfying.

ย

I don’t know about you, but we definitely aren’t deprived of anything at this house just because we choose to make healthier choices. Grass-fed steaks topped with rich yellow butter and fresh herbs, savory oven roasted farm fresh veggies and thenย coconut flour apple dumplings (with just picked apples!) topped with coconut milk ice cream for dessert. So yeah, I’m pretty sure we’re not deprived of anything ๐Ÿ˜‰ In fact, I can’t think of anything that sounds better than that right about now!

ย

You definitely don’t have to sacrifice flavor or even your favorite foods.

I created this apple tray with 3 healthier (and easy!) dips at my last party and it was a big hit! The 3 dips were much healthier alternatives to sugar and chemically laden dips and everything was super yummy and created with all real ingredients. No fake stuff in here!

ย

And the cool part is that each dip is completely homemade, but literally took less than 5 minutes to put together.

I made an easy caramel dip โ€“ ohmigosh, it is good!

ย

I made my pumpkin spiced almond butter dip โ€“ huge hit!

ย

And obviously, no dipping station would be complete without chocolate. I used my super easy, homemade (dairy free!), chocolate recipe that everyone raves over.

Serves: Makes a little over ½ cup of caramel sauce

Ingredients
Caramel Sauce
Instructions
For the Caramel Sauce
  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepot over medium low heat until melted.
  2. Combine the milk and arrowroot powder together and add in with the butter.
  3. Add vanilla, cinnamon, and sea salt. Stir until it starts to simmer.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in honey. Caramel sauce will thicken as it cools.
Notes
I use a dipping tray like THIS one to serve the dips.

I love this! Excited to make for my Halloween party! Did you sprinkle the apples with lemon to keep them from turning brown?

Do you recommend any substitutions if you don’t have arrowroot powder? would cornstarch work here? or some other type of flour? Tapioca flour?

Where can I find the full recipe for the caramel dip? I see it mentioned but don’t see the full recipe?

    Thank You,

Thanks Kelly, I was just thinking this morning as I was packing my sons lunch, that I needed to find a peanut-free dip for his apples. He has nut allergies in his classroom, and he doesn’t really like sunflower butter all that much. He loves caramel, so I can’t wait to try this!!!

I’m always scared to make caramel because it can burn so easily…but this was super easy! It was delicious. The texture is a little odd once it’s cold, which is likely the arrowroot, but it’s still excellent. The flavor is great. Next time I’m going to leave the cinnamon out. I love that it uses maple syrup! ๐Ÿ™‚
