DIY Coffee Eye Cream Recipe:

A Homemade Eye Balm for Puffy Eyes, Dark Circles & Fine Lines

Say hello to fresh, youthful looking eyes after using this DIY Coffee Eye Cream! Seriously ladies, this simple recipe has been like magic for my under eye area. Let’s just say that I haven’t gotten even close to a full night of sleep since Sam was born (will I ever?! help!) and this eye balm has been amazing for me. I can’t wait for you to try it!

This coffee under eye balm contains 4 simple ingredients that pack a powerful anti-aging punch: Coffee beans, Rosehip oil, Cacao butter and Beeswax.

Coffee Benefits for Skin

For the past few years, I’ve sung the praises of using coffee as a powerful, anti-aging ingredient in skincare recipes. Why? Because coffee is a rich source of antioxidants that protects our skin against free radicals that damage and age us. Coffee firms, tightens, brightens and restores damaged skin. And the caffeine in coffee boosts circulation to target puffy eyes and dark circles!

Caffeine and Coffee For Puffy Eyes, Dark Circles & Fine Lines

The caffeine in coffee stimulates the skin and improves blood flow to the face, which is perfect for healthy cell turnover that makes us look radiant and bright. Extra blood flow and circulation to the under eye area is just what we want for those dark circles and puffy eyes! The reason for your dark circles and puffy eyes is due to stagnant blood that isn’t flowing well under your eye area.

Another really cool benefit of coffee applied to the skin is that it increases the production of collagen and elastin.  The caffeine in coffee minimizes fine lines and protects against the loss of moisture, making it the ideal choice for anti-aging.

Rosehip Oil Benefits for Skin

Rosehip Oil is one of the most popular oils for anti-aging because it repairs and regenerates damaged skin tissue. It’s well tolerated by all skin types, even oily skin because it helps regulate natural sebum production.

Rosehip oil penetrates deeply into the lower layers of the skin where it regenerates cells and increases collagen production. It is rich in vitamin C and E, Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids and retinoic acid, which studies have shown to brighten and tighten skin! It also helps restore skin’s elasticity, fades age spots and dark circles, reduces broken capillaries, and balances oil glands.

I use THIS Rosehip Oil.

Cacao Butter Benefits for Skin

Cacao Butter is one of my favorite healing skincare ingredients. It’s chock full of antioxidants and vitamins and is extremely nourishing to the skin.  It contains a rich source of polyphenols. Studies show that polyphenols can improve skin elasticity and skin tone, diminish signs of aging, regenerate skin cells, and boost collagen production. Cacao Butter is great stuff, I tell ya!

I love and use THIS Cacao Butter.

Can you see why I love this recipe so much?! It’s chock full of potent ingredients that can dramatically target and help the under eye area. With continued use, you’ll notice less puffy eyes, even skin tone (no more dark circles!) and reduced fine lines.

Like I said at the beginning of this post: Say hello to fresh, youthful looking eyes! Plus, it smells divine! The aroma is reminiscent of a warm vanilla latte….swoon.  This coffee eye balm has really helped my eye area and I’m excited for you to try it, too!

DIY Coffee Eye Cream Recipe:

DIY Coffee Eye Cream for Puffy Eyes, Dark Circles & Fine Lines
Serves: about 2 ounces
  1. Add coffee beans and rosehip oil to a double boiler (for those without a double boiler, you can add a few inches of water to a skillet and then put a heat proof glass jar in the water. Add your ingredients to the glass jar).
  2. Heat your coffee beans and rosehip oil on medium low heat for 30-45 minutes to infuse the beneficial properties of coffee into the oil. Strain the beans out of the oil. Pour the oil back in the double boiler.
  3. Add in the beeswax pellets and cacao butter and heat until melted (about 5 minutes), stirring often.
  4. Once it's all melted and liquid, it's done! Pour into desired containers. I use THESE ½ ounce containers.
  5. Let sit on counter until firm. You can speed this process up by putting it in the fridge. Enjoy!
