June Stitch Fix Review – Best one yet!

My June Stitch Fix is here and I’m so excited because it’s the best one I’ve ever received!

Last year was a year full of personal development for me.  I took part in a life changing program called Dressing Your Truth. I grew by leaps and bounds and it was one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

After that program, I did a major clothes (and life!) purge and decided from there on out, I was only purchasing items that were a 10 out of 10 for me.   I decided to join Stitch Fix to help me build my then empty wardrobe.  It’s been such a blast and I’ve gotten the best pieces that I adore! I am a huuuuuge fan of Stitch Fix and Dressing Your Truth and definitely recommend them both!

What is Stitch Fix?

If you’ve never heard of Stitch fix yet, let me tell you! With Stitch Fix, you get a surprise box complete with 5 handpicked clothing and/or accessories picked out just for you from your very own personal stylist (how cool is that?!)  You get to keep only what you want (for me it has to be a 10 out of 10!) and you can send back whatever you don’t want in the postage paid envelope. You can schedule a Fix whenever you want – no monthly commitments or anything like that.  For those wondering about the cost, it is affordable. The clothes are definitely more expensive than Target, but about equal to what you would expect at a department store.

If you’d like to learn more about Stitch Fix or sign up for your very own Fix, you can click HERE. I’ve been very happy with Stitch Fix for almost a year now.

My June Stitch Fix

For my June Fix, I requested a new stylist. Having a stylist who gets you, listens to you and understands you is key for getting a good Fix. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find a stylist that you really jive with. I loved my original Stitch Fix stylist (the one I had for almost a year!), who much to my disappointment, left the company.  I was mostly happy with my replacement stylist, who styled me the last 2 Fixes.  She did a fabulous job picking out clothes for me.

So why the change? Every Fix comes with a personalized note from your stylist, along with picture suggestions of how you can style your pieces. For me, those personalized notes are one of the best parts about Stitch Fix. My replacement stylist’s notes were super short and very generalized. Basically – “I hope you like the pieces I picked for you! I can’t wait to hear your feedback!”  I was used to getting really personalized notes with helpful suggestions about how to wear the pieces.  I missed that!

Even though the replacement stylist did a great job, I kept feeling like there was someone else out there that I would jive with a little bit better.  So I was on a mission to find a new stylist.  In a Stitch Fix Facebook group that I belong to, I noticed that many of the Fixes I was drawn to were styled by a gal named Kallie. And those who had Kallie as a stylist raved about how awesome and sweet she was and how much she listened to their feedback.  So I requested her.  And I am so happy I decided to make the change – this was my best Fix to date! Every single thing couldn’t have been more perfect.  And look at the note she sent along. So sweet and so personal πŸ™‚ Kallie is a definite keeper. I feel so lucky to have found her!

I can’t wait to show you what she picked out for me! Let’s take a look….

Andrew Marc Alissa Dress

June Stitch Fix Review - Andrew Marc Alissa Dress Kelly from Primally Inspired #stitchfix

Oh, this dress! I love everything about it – the gorgeous color, the perfect fit, the classy length, the high quality, the pretty lattice detail work. It’s such a classic piece in one of my favorite colors that I will love for many years to come.  I totally fell in love with a dress in my April Fix, but it was too big. I debated keeping that April Fix dress and getting it altered or sending it back in hopes that something better will come my way. I sent it back.  Sometimes in life (and in Stitch Fix haha) it’s best to not settle because something even better is waiting for you right around the corner πŸ˜‰ #lifelessonsinastitchfixreview

I especially love Kallie’s suggestions to add a turquoise statement necklace and dressing it down with a denim jacket and sandals. Thanks, Kallie – I will do that!

VERDICT: KEEPING!

Renee C Napson Lace Panel Blouse

This shirt is the reason I love Stitch Fix so much. Before Stitch Fix and Dressing Your Truth, I pretty much lived in solid tops (mostly black and grey if you can believe that!). But through Dressing Your Truth, I learned how to dress so that my unique inner beauty shines through to my outer expression. I know that sounds super confusing, but basically, what you now see me wearing on the outside perfectly matches my inside πŸ™‚

It’s been such an amazing and life changing experience to understand and love my unique expression. Last year, I took the full Dressing Your Truth course that taught me exactly how to express my true self to the world just by the clothing and accessories I wear (even the makeup I wear and my hair, too!).  I looooooove getting dressed each day – Every morning, it’s a chance to remind myself who I am and what my unique, special gifts are to this world. Clothes represent something much deeper to me now. They are a wonderful reminder to love and live true to myself!

For those who know about Dressing Your Truth or have taken the free online mini course (You can sign up to take it HERE), I am a Type 1 (any other Type 1’s out there?!)  and love being able to reflect to the world who I am πŸ™‚ You have a special, unique expression, too! Do you know what yours is yet?  If not, I would definitely recommend taking that free mini course. That mini course and the full course was a total game changer for me!

Ohmigosh, anytime I talk about Dressing Your Truth, I can’t stop!!! I’m so sorry to get that much off topic lol. So I said all that to say that this shirt perfectly reflects who I am more than any other shirt I own. That’s why it’s extra, extra special for me. It makes me so happy πŸ™‚

Stitch Fix has also played a huge part in breaking me out of my fashion comfort zone. I love having a personal stylist who truly gets me and sends me things like this top that I typically wouldn’t pick out myself. Thank you, Kallie for this top. It’s so much more than just a shirt to me!

VERDICT: Keeping – My favorite out of the favorites πŸ™‚

Skies are Blue Arlene Embroidered Top

This tangerine orange shirt is lightweight, perfect for summer and such a fun bright color.  There’s an unexpected mix of floral lace and a beautiful design running down the front. The back has a big panel of floral lace, too. It’s so different and I love wearing it!

VERDICT: Keeping!

41 Hawthorn McQue Lace Sleeve Blouse

June Stitch Fix Review - 41Hawthorn McQue Solid Lace Sleeve Blouse Primally Inspired #stitchfix

My April Fix contained a color similar to this, which I really loved. I didn’t end up keeping the April item because of sizing issues. So I was especially thrilled to see this lovely berry color in my June Stitch Fix. This top is lightweight, has beautiful sheer lace detail on the sleeves and can easily be dressed up or down all throughout the year. I’m excited to add this gorgeous color to my wardrobe!

VERDICT: Keeping!

Pixley Colibri Bird Print Tab-Sleeve Blouse

June Stitch Fix Review - Pixley Colibri Bird Print Tab-Sleeve Blouse Kelly from Primally Inspired #stitchfix

How adorable is this fun bird top?! The funny thing about this top is that I’ve been slowly coming to grips that I’m turning into a crazy bird lady, just like my mom.  So when I saw this shirt, I had to laugh and accept that it must be true. The world is telling me that I really am, in fact, a crazy bird lady and I just have to roll with it.

You see, my mom is the biggest craziest bird lady I know and I always made fun of her for it. We grew up in the woods, with wildlife galore. I totally didn’t get her fascination with those annoying birds that pooped all over my car. But my mom loves them. She knows every bird that lives there, all the facts about the different species of birds and she faithfully feeds her beloved birds every single day, wind, rain or snow. If one of her regulars doesn’t show up to one of her many feeders that day, she worries about it.  And now we live deep in the woods and have so many birds living here. My husband and I enjoy sitting out on our deck and just watching them do their bird things (omg, what has happened to us?!). We even have our “regulars” that we see every day that we may or may not have named (omg!!!!). So yeah, this shirt makes me laugh a lot. Plus it’s super cute πŸ˜‰

VERDICT: Keeping!

Wow, this Fix was an immediate 5 out of 5 for me, which has never happened before!  I prefer to keep a slim closet with minimal pieces that I truly love and adore, so I already chose 3 older pieces to sell to make room for all these wonderful new pieces that I will enjoy so much πŸ™‚ I feel very blessed this month – thank you Kallie!

And thank you for reading! I love sharing these little glimpses into my personal life with you <3  Enjoy your week!

Love, love, love all the pieces! And you have me very intrigued about Dressing Your Truth. I pretty much stick to black, grey and white, with a little pink and aqua thrown in. Maybe I need to get out of my comfort zone!

I saw this on Pinterest and clicked on it bc I LOVED the paisley top! My first thought was “I wonder if those are all Type 1 colors?” And then lo and behold, you talked about DYT!!! So awesome! I want to request THIS fix!! Love all of it!

Where do you get your ridiculously cute statement necklaces? I’ve looked at quite a few of your posts about stitch fix and you are always wearing them with cute accessories – where do you shop for those?

i enjoy seeing your fixes! I just did DYT two months ago and already love how this past month or so my outside matches my inside! You look so cute, I just need to find a stylist to help me look stunning πŸ˜‰

How did you explain to your stylist about DYT and to make sure she gets you type 1 clothes? I love that bird shirt! I am also type 1. πŸ™‚ I know this is an old post, I’m just doing some research on Stitch Fix and was drawn to it. Is your stylist still around?

    • Kelly from Primally Inspired

Hi Melissa! My stylist, Kallie, is still around and she is so awesome. You can request her, too, if you want! I wrote in my style profile: “I only wear Lilly Pulitzer colors and never, ever any black or grey. I like lightweight, fun, cute, preppy clothes.” (And then I linked to my pinterest board which is full of type 1 styles that I love.) Some type 1’s who are drawn to my style and who do Stitch Fix have linked to some of my Stitch Fix blog posts and they say it has helped their stylist, too πŸ™‚

      Hope that helps!! Good luck!!
